The Seamstress of Seghill
Bespoke dressmaking, bridal and general alterations
About me
Being a curvacious teenager, and heavily into music and alternative clothing, my mother let me loose on her sewing machine. I used to go 'shopping' for ideas and I would recreate those Sioxsie and the Banshees style outfits for my ample bust out of shot silk and gaberdine raincoats from jumble sales and second hand shops. I loved my way out clothing, and I got the sewing bug right then in the early 80's.
Fast forward forty years, and two vintage shops and two bridal shops later, and a house move to the coast has led me to a fabulous home studio where I create most days.
I can be found making alternative bridal gowns, floral quilts, vintage dresses, lighthouse beach bags and altering bridaland prom wear. I also make bespoke veils, bridal bags and so much more
